Sponsor a tree

Home » Get involved » Sponsor a tree

From just £10, you can sponsor a tree in one of our 290+ Tiny Forests across the UK and support a thriving wildlife haven in an urban community.

Using the science-backed Miyawaki method, our forests grow faster than conventional tree planting and attract up to 500 wildlife species in just three years. Each tree you sponsor helps bring nature to where it’s needed most – the cities where 80% of us live.

Choose your favourite native tree species, receive a personalised certificate, and give a gift that truly gives back. Whether for yourself, a loved one, or to mark a special occasion, your sponsorship creates lasting impact for wildlife, communities, and our planet.

  • Choose your tree: Select a species that reflects you or your gift recipient.

  • Make your donation: Sponsor a tree from just £10. Your donation supports urban forests across the UK.

  • Receive your certificate: Get a personalised certificate with your chosen tree species and optional message

Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, memorial, wedding, or simply want to give an eco-conscious gift, sponsoring an urban tree is meaningful and unique. Choose from native species like oak, birch, hazel, or rowan, and we’ll send you a beautiful certificate personalised with your chosen tree and dedication message.

Every tree matters. Every community deserves wild spaces. Every person needs nature.

If you are part of an organisation that is interested in gifting 20 trees or more to your employees, get in touch.

How much does it cost to sponsor a tree?

Sponsoring an urban tree costs just £10. This contribution supports our network of over 290 Tiny Forests across the UK, helping us plant new forests and maintain existing ones.

Where will my tree be planted?

Your sponsorship supports the entire Tiny Forest network across the UK rather than a specific individual tree. This approach ensures maximum impact – we can plant trees where they’re most needed, care for all our forests, and create connected wildlife corridors in urban areas. You can explore our Tiny Forest locations on our interactive map.

What tree species can I choose?

You can choose from a selection of native and naturalised species including English oak, silver birch, hazel, rowan, field maple, hawthorn, and wild cherry. Each species plays an important role in our biodiverse mini-ecosystems.

When will my tree be planted?

We plant Tiny Forests during the optimal planting season (November to March). Your sponsorship contributes to our year-round programme of creating and maintaining urban forests with local communities.

How is this different from other tree planting charities?

We focus exclusively on urban areas where 80% of the UK population lives but nature access is limited. Our Tiny Forests use the Miyawaki method to grow 10x faster and create dense, biodiverse ecosystems that support over 500 wildlife species – not just individual trees in rural areas.

What is the Miyawaki method?

The Miyawaki method is a Japanese technique developed by botanist Akira Miyawaki. It creates dense, multi-layered forests that grow rapidly (10x faster than conventional planting), require minimal maintenance after 2-3 years, and attract significantly more biodiversity than traditional tree planting.

Can businesses sponsor multiple trees?

Yes, we offer corporate packages for organisations wanting to sponsor trees for employees, clients, or as part of their sustainability initiatives. Contact us for bulk sponsorship options starting from 20 trees.

Can I visit ‘my’ tree?

Your sponsorship supports the whole network rather than one specific tree, which means we can direct resources where they create maximum impact. However, our forests are public spaces and we encourage everyone to visit and enjoy them!

£10 seems cheap – is that really enough?

Because we plant forests (not individual trees) and work with volunteers, we can create incredible impact efficiently. Your £10 supports the entire network, meaning it has multiplied effect.
