Great UK WaterBlitz – tell us your story!
Thank you for taking part in our Great UK WaterBlitz! With the data you collect, we can build a picture of freshwater health across the UK. The WaterBlitz is a biannual campaign which is part of our ongoing FreshWater Watch citizen science monitoring programme. By sharing your story, you help us inspire more people to participate and to continue the fight for healthy fresh water. Thank you!
How we share your story
We are looking for photos and short videos showing yourself and any other people (or four-legged friends) whilst out doing water testing. Our form below also asks you to answer a few questions about your WaterBlitz experience.
Your story will be shared on our public-facing digital channels:
Blogs on our website, social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, LinkedIn, and stories in our Great UK WaterBlitz report which is published on the Great UK WaterBlitz webpage.
We occasionally also share this content with journalists as well as partners who support the Great UK WaterBlitz.

Send us your story
You can tell us about your WaterBlitz experience using the form below, or you can send us an e-mail. For any questions or queries about sharing your stories, or if you experience any problems using the form below, please email us.
A few things to keep in mind…
Please tell us about your photos – where you tested and who you were with. Where possible, please ensure image file names include the following information: Your Name – Name of Waterbody – Location (For example: “Maria Murray – River Thames – London”). If there are other people in your pictures or video, please make sure that they are also happy to appear on our digital channels.

Support the Great UK WaterBlitz
It costs £6 for each water testing kit used in the Great UK WaterBlitz and we rely on voluntary donations to support our work. Every donation means that we can test more rivers in more locations across the UK. Please donate to make the Great UK WaterBlitz as big as possible.
