Jos Huijbregts is CFO at the Ocean Cleanup, a registered charity with a team of over 90 engineers, researchers, scientists and computational modellers working to develop advance technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. Ocean Cleanup partners with a broad spectrum of organisations including corporate, academic and the government of the Netherlands.
Jos brings over 25 years of corporate finance and international business management experience from companies such as Royal DSM, Randstad and Christies. Prior to his current role Jos was CFO for Kema N.V. where he was an Executive Board member with responsibility for US operations and headquarters, prepared the company for auction sale and negotiated a €200 million transaction with DNV. He has degrees in Econometrics, Education and Financial Management.
With a strong interest in education, Jos developed and taught a course on Applying Mathematical Techniques in Finance for the Utrecht University Graduate School and currently teaches mathematics to students in the Middle Years and Diploma programmes at the International School Hilversum. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Priogen (energy trading) and has previous experience as a trustee for Villa Joep (the fund against neuroblastoma childhood cancer).
