Sasha Woods is Researcher for Impact and Innovation at Earthwatch.
Sasha has a broad background in scientific research; she obtained a BSc in Natural Sciences from the University of Birmingham, a MSc in Reproductive and Developmental Biology from Imperial College London, and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Bristol. She went on to undertake postdoctoral research in Parkinson’s Disease at Harvard Medical School (2015-2016), and in retinal development/disease at University College London (2016-2019). Despite a background in human biology, Sasha felt compelled to change career paths and move into environmental and citizen science in response to the climate and biodiversity crises. She now uses her investigative and analytical skills within the Innovation team at Earthwatch.
