Biography

Sasha Woods is Researcher for Impact and Innovation at Earthwatch.

Sasha has a broad background in scientific research; she obtained a BSc in Natural Sciences from the University of Birmingham, a MSc in Reproductive and Developmental Biology from Imperial College London, and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Bristol. She went on to undertake postdoctoral research in Parkinson’s Disease at Harvard Medical School (2015-2016), and in retinal development/disease at University College London (2016-2019). Despite a background in human biology, Sasha felt compelled to change career paths and move into environmental and citizen science in response to the climate and biodiversity crises.
