Anna Witter

Biography
Anna joined Earthwatch in 2024, having previously worked as a researcher in the circular economy field, implementing circular economy principles into the design of a zero-emission marine propulsion system. In 2022, Anna completed her MSci in Zoology from the University of Exeter, with a research topic on chemical contaminants in the marine environment and their impacts on animal behaviour. Anna now focuses on four projects at Earthwatch: ProBleu, CircleUp, CHEERS, and MoRe4Nature.

ProBleu (Horizon Europe)
Anna is part of the team developing the ProBleu funding calls and teaching resources. The aim is to grow the Network of European Blue Schools and bring ocean and water literacy into the classroom across the EU and associated countries.
CircleUp (Horizon Europe)
Anna works on CircleUp which aims to encourage over 100 households to adopt ‘circular-economy’ buying, using and disposing behaviours, to reduce the amount of waste they produce.
CHEERS (Horizon Europe, UKRI)
Anna works as part of the team on CHEERS, this project aims to improve the value of under-used products and waste from the brewing industry for conversion into bio-products.
MoRe4Nature (Horizon Europe)
Anna supports activities in MoRe4Nature. MoRe4nature aims to trigger transformative change in conservation efforts regarding zero pollution, biodiversity protection and deforestation prevention by including citizens and communities as key actors in collaborative environmental compliance assurance.
