Young Earthwatcher Film Competition

In 2018 we joined forces with the Wildscreen Festival to launch the first ever Young Earthwatcher Film Competition.

The competition invited UK residents aged 14 to 17 to create a short film based on an environmental topic close to their heart. Thank you to all who entered – the standard of your submissions was extremely high.

Check out the finalists' videos below – we hope they inspire you to get out and start creating your own cinematic masterpieces!

AND THE WINNER IS...

'A load of rubbish'

By Charlotte, Suffolk

“When I entered the competition, I’d just started litter picking in my village, and the amount of litter I found really inspired me to make this short video. I think this is an amazing opportunity to share a positive message, and to inspire young people.”

'Our changing seasons'

By James, Surrey

"I entered this competition because I'm passionate about wildlife and the environment, and I think that it's really important for people of my generation to have someone their own age reaching out to them about these issues."

'Learn to love your planet'

By Dan, Bristol

“My film focuses on the issue of climate change. I would love to stop all environmental problems going on right now. However, I can’t single-handedly solve all these problems, and that’s why I’ve entered this competition. I’m hoping with this film I can reach out to as many people as possible.”
