The learning team and scientists from across Earthwatch Europe have created a free online platform for formal and informal educators, which includes 10 modules of online learning resources. These include lesson plans, teaching guides, student activity guides and accompanying videos across a huge range of topics. Each module is designed to empower educators to inspire the next generation to take action for our planet and create exceptional outdoor learning experiences for their students.
Current modules include
- Outdoor Learning & Risk Management
- Community Changemakers
- Citizen Science
- Tiny Forests
- Plastic Rivers
- FreshWater Watch
- UN Sustainable Development Goals
With additional modules such as Climate Change, Biodiversity & Habitats and Sustainability coming soon. The platform also offers the opportunity to connect with educators across the country to share experiences, advice and ideas. So if you’re an educator working with kids aged 5-14, looking for curriculum linked activities to inspire action for the planet, there will be some fantastic resources to suit you and your students.
We’re so excited to be sharing this brand new offer from Earthwatch Education. Whether students are learning in inner city urban areas, or rural countryside, they should all have the opportunity to explore and experience the great outdoors, to build a meaningful connection to nature and broaden their understanding of the environment. Our resources are here to ensure all educators have the confidence, subject knowledge and pedagogical skills to move learning outside the classroom and inspire action for the planet.
