Earthwatch at 50: Sue Fielden’s story
Expeditions have far more camaraderie than your average holiday said Sue Fielden whose Earthwatch expedition to Kangaroo Island in 1993 turned out to be the first of four undertaken over a 20 year period.
Having travelled from Australia to Namibia and Italy with Earthwatch, Sue has not only had her eyes opened to global environmental challenges, but has been inspired to protect nature at home too.
Experiencing different ecosystems makes us realise how fragile the world is and what you can do as an individual to support nature.
Back at home on the Isle Of Wight, Sue remains an active, outdoor person who helps support red squirrels, takes part on the removal of invasive plants and undertakes coastal clean-ups.
