Earthwatch at 50: Kim Creasey’s story
Ever since seeing her first pod of Dolphins, aged four, Kim Creasey knew she wanted to work with wildlife. After working as a nurse for many years, she changed career to follow her ambitions, getting involved in Badger rehabilitation and environmental campaigning.
Kim has a love for marine mammals and joined her first Earthwatch expedition to study Orcas in 1992. She soon progressed to surveying Whales and Dolphins in the Bahamas and Southern Right Whales in South Africa. Kim continues to campaign tirelessly to raise awareness of environmental issues.
Earthwatch gives people the chance to get close to wildlife, not just as a tourist but alongside some of the worlds most knowledgeable scientists. Knowing that the research you are doing is actually making a difference to the most pressing environmental challenges is a great honour. Not to mention great fun!
