Earthwatch at 50: Edward Hoare’s story
Edward is a philanthropist and environmentalists who has, at various times has been a long term supporter of Earthwatch and was also previously a member of the Board of Advisors.
Edward was a member of the Hoare’s Bank Family Forum, which distributes funds from the Golden Bottle Trust which continues the Hoare family tradition of giving to good causes since the late 17th century.
Edward explores new ways in how to make the planet more sustainable, and has created an innovative mind-mapping in 3D platform called Thortspace. The main focus of attention is the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and what can be done to enable greater involvement with the most important plans for the planet.
On his long term support of Earthwatch, Edward says the concept of citizen science is a useful additional string to the bow for the good of mankind.
